Planning Services

  • Needs assessment
  • Short-term problem resolution
  • Development of long-term coping plans
  • Implementation and management of plans

We evaluate your needs, both immediate and over a longer period of time and, using our resources and in-house expertise, we develop an appropriate action plan specifically designed to help you and your aging parent.

  • Undertake initial assessment of needs, both yours and your senior’s

We prefer to have this take place in the senior’s home, since we likely have already met with you, either in person or on the phone,  and  identified your primary stressors and concerns.

Our assessment includes not only the physical environment, but also the cultural, emotional and financial environment, as all of these are important factors in preparing a realistic and viable plan for your senior’s well-being, not only in the short term, but into the future.

  • Provide action plan tailored to the specific needs of the client

We carefully review the information we have gathered during the assessments, then consider and explore appropriate options, which we then compile into a report that we pass on to you for your final consideration.

  • Research and recommend support services to help implement plan

Within our framework of in-house resources, we offer a number of support services such as a safety audit,  decluttering/organizing services and relocation services.

But we do much more than that, because seniors’ needs are so many and varied.  Whether you need a financial planner, someone to coordinate and liaise with various health support services, someone to deliver meals to the senior’s home, or looking for a compatible Older Adult Centre for day activities, we research the external services you need and present the results of our research for your consideration and final decision.

  • Act as a single point of contact and coordinator for all services

It’s not necessary for you take time off from work or your other responsibilities to oversee contractors who might be making your senior’s home more barrier-free, or to spend a lot of time on the telephone arranging for a pick-up to transport your senior to an appointment or activity, or follow up to ensure that support people and service people show up on time and do their job — we can do that for you.  And by being the single contact source, we minimize the possibility of duplication of effort and unnecessary expenses, while freeing up your time and relieving some of your potential stress.
